Have not had any problems whatsoever with anything cracking. I've had mine for about three years now maybe four, and have put quite a few rounds downrange with it. In fact, Buds actually has them IN STOCK in Walnut, $637 which is a good price. Please, do share your experience or link to info regarding cracked 527 stocks.Īlso- where did you hear that they've gone to Beech? AFAIK, the 527s are still stocked in Walnut. My noremf'ed stock looks SOOOO much better now: I've learned a lot from George, or resident wood finish Jedi Master. I gave it some love with a gentle rottenstone slurry rub followed by a coat of Renaissance wax- aka the "noremf" treatment. To be perfectly clear: I spend quite a bit of time perusing the forums here, and this is the first I have heard anyone mention any concerns about 527 models cracking stocks.Īs you can see in the top pic, the stock had some decent figure but the CZ motor oil finish obscured it. The malalignment was not significant, but knowing the CZ tendency towards left barrel shift, I decided to nip it in the bud and prevent it from getting any worse. I did do a limited bedding job just around the front of the receiver and the recoil lug, but my purpose was to center the action in the stock- it was slightly loose without fully tightening (to the point of overtightening, IMO) the action screws, and the barrel was slightly off center to the left in the barrel channel.
